We couldn't do it without them! |
Kindred SpiritsWe couldn't do it without them!Helen Laurel, wife for former Phoenicians Director Lou Laurel, was the driving force in establishing the "Choralaides" in Phoenix, a ladies organization that gives support to the Phoenicians chorus. They organized and held their first meeting on January 28, 1968 and have continued steadfastly to the present day. The Pride of Phoenix Chorus had a similar organization, "Pride and Joy." When the two choruses combined to become the Spirit of Phoenix, the two groups did the same, and took the name "Kindred Spirits." Membership is open to anyone interested in helping the chorus with tasks needed to be done to assist the Spirit of Phoenix Chorus. We do have social events and we do some fund raising. Persons interested need not be affiliated with the chorus to be a member of Kindred Spirits. This is open to men, women, and children. We have occasional meetings, but most of our work is done as needed such as serving refreshments to the chorus and guest night activities, ushering, selling tickets, etc. Annual dues are $10. We welcome new members. The Kindred Spirits meet once a month either for a meeting or social event. See the Rehearsals page for directions. Kindred Spirits Officers
